Mohammad Dehqan made the remrks in his meeting with the visiting Iraqi Justice Minister.
"One of the most beautiful manifestations of the brotherhood and friendly ties between our two nations is the trips of the Iranian and Iraqi pilgrims to each other’s country to visit the holy shrines of the infallible imams (P) in the two Shia Muslim countries," he added..
The vice president for legal affairs said that Iran considers Iraq’s success and victory as its own triumph, adding that the blood of the Iranian and Iraqi martyrs in defense of the holy Iraqi shrines were mixed with each other, atop whom there were the noble martyrs, Haj Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, which is a precious document about the deep Iran-Iraq ties.
Dehqan in the meeting, meanwhile, proposed the establishment of a regional high court of justice.
The Iraqi Justice Minister Abdul Sattar Muhammad, for his part, praised the deep rooted relations between the Iraqi and Iranian nations despite the existence of lots of ups and downs, including during Saddam’s despotic regime, and said, "In the recent cabinet meeting of the Iraqi ministers the prime minister ordered that elimination of visa requirement for the Iranian pilgrims will be implemented to further facilitate the Iranians’ trips to Iraq.
Abdul Sattar Muhammad said that the high level of Iran-Iraq relations and interactions calls for further improvement of the level of bilateral legal and justice relations aimed at facilitating the economic, cultural and social interactions more than ever before.
The Iraqi justice minister also welcomed the Iranian vice president for legal affairs’ proposal on establishment of a regional court of justice inclusive of the entire regional countries’ legal experts.
“Unfortunately, the courts in western countries in addition to their very high expenses for surveying the legal disputes of our countries against the western sides, in many cases act biased, and therefore, Iraq will be the first country to support this bright proposal,” added the Iraqi minister.
